Hey there,
I’m Alex Panagis, the founder of WP DocSync, a Workover product. I’ve been running ScaleMath – the business that’s responsible for bringing Workover to a screen near you – for coming up on ten years.
One of the most common questions I’m asked is why we ever set off on the journey of building Workover.
Let’s not kid ourselves. We’re embarking on a journey that’s competitive, expensive, and sure as hell is challenging in what is a saturated market against brands that are VC-funded to the moon and back.
And I sometimes joke that for the sake of a backstory, I wish there were some novelty or “a-ha moment” that led to the inception of Workover.
The reality is that there isn’t.
The simple truth is that we’re building Workover, starting off with WP DocSync, out of a desperate desire for better work.
We needed it, and we still need it as a part of the work we do.
At ScaleMath, we continue to operate the team of creative marketers, makers, and operators backing the world’s leading companies on customer acquisition & experience. One of these companies now just so happens to be one that’s founded and entirely under ScaleMath’s management, while others are ones in our advisory or group of companies in some other form.
Simply put, we’re not new to this, and we’re here to stay.
And, what we build, how we build it, and the problems we’re solving are based on the work we do with some of the world’s best talent in growth, product, content, and beyond.
Now, our own product & engineering team isn’t in the hundreds – let alone even in the dozens so we’re starting off by focusing on a seemingly small problem set as a natural starting point. That starting point is WP DocSync, the product you see today that’s focused on making it easier to work with Google Docs and WordPress – the most common choice from solo content folks through to every enterprise brand where every idea starts as a Google Doc.
But, as you’ve probably guessed, we have no intentions of stopping there. Building on the foundation of being able to push changes straight to the CMS layer (at the moment, only supporting WordPress, for good reasons) – there’s a lot more ground we intend to cover to make it easier for growth teams to do their best work. That means covering everything from the (1) workflow side (to be able to take action and actually update things on your site) as well as (2) auditing the technical side (to surface suggestions for things that should be addressed) and (3) researching, planning, and optimizing your work.
In other words, we’ve got a long road ahead of us, and we’d be honored to have you join us.
Thank you for making your way to this page and reading about our start. You can always contact me directly if you have any questions [email protected].
I’d genuinely look forward to hearing from you.
Best,
– Alex Panagis
