Seeing who changed access to a document

Workover records every change to who can open a document in your workspace’s audit log: people added, invited, removed or given a new role, invitations canceled, and links turned on or off. Use it to answer “who shared this, and when?”

Before you start: you need to be a member of the workspace. Downloading the log needs the workspace Owner or Admin role.

Find access changes

  1. Click Workspace settings (the gear in the app header).
  2. Select the Audit log tab.

The log lists what happened in the workspace, newest first, with When, Who, What and Where columns. Where shows the document and its project.
  3. To narrow the list, use the filters above it:

    • Action: choose an access change. The list offers only the actions your workspace has recorded.

    • Person: choose who made the change.

    • From and To: limit the dates.

  4. To see earlier entries, click Load older entries at the bottom of the list.

Access actions in the log

The line under each action gives the detail, such as the email address and role.

Download the log

Choose CSV or JSON next to Export, then click Export. The download includes only the entries that match your filters, up to the most recent 10,000. Only workspace Owners and Admins can download it.
