Slack

Connect Slack so Workover activity reaches the place your team already looks.

Connecting

Workspace settings → Integrations → Slack. You authorise the Workover Slack app for your workspace and choose the channel to post into.

Connecting is a workspace-level action, so an admin does it once.

What it posts

Activity worth interrupting a channel for, not everything that happens:

  • Comments and mentions on documents.
  • Documents shared with your team.
  • Monitor alerts, if you use Monitor — see alerts and incidents.

It does not post every edit. A document being written generates no Slack traffic, which is the correct default: the channel is for things someone should react to.

Choosing a channel

Pick one people read. The most common mistake is a dedicated #workover channel that everyone mutes in week two — at which point the integration is doing nothing except making everyone feel informed.

Better: post into the channel where the work is already discussed. Content activity into #content, Monitor alerts into whichever channel owns the site.

Monitor alerts and document activity can go to different channels, and usually should — they interrupt different people.

Turning it down

Choose which categories post. If Slack is getting noisy the answer is usually to narrow the categories rather than to disconnect: mentions and Monitor alerts are worth a message, general comment traffic often is not.

Disconnecting

From the same settings, or by removing the app in Slack. Nothing in Workover changes; only the posting stops.
