How to update your payment method

When a card expires or a payment fails, replace the card on the workspace’s plan. The card belongs to the workspace, not to your account, so each workspace you pay for has its own card and you update each one separately.

Before you start: you need the Owner or Admin role in the workspace, and the workspace must already be on a plan. The Payment method row only appears once a plan has started.

Update the card

  1. Open the workspace switcher and pick the workspace whose card you want to change.
  2. In the same switcher, choose Workspace settings, then open the Plan & billing tab.
  3. Find Payment method. It shows the current card, for example “Visa •••• 4242 · expires 8/2027”, or No card on file.
  4. Click Update, or Add card if no card is on file. A card form opens on the page.
  5. Enter the new card details and click Save card.

When the card is saved, the page shows “Your payment method has been updated.” The new card becomes the default for the workspace and is used for the plan’s next charges.

If you use the link https://workover.io/app/settings/billing, it opens Plan & billing for the workspace you currently have selected. Check the workspace name in the switcher before you change the card.

Troubleshooting

I do not see Payment method. The workspace is not on a plan: it has never started one, or its plan was canceled and has ended. There is no card to update. See How to start your free trial or subscribe.

My payment already failed. Saving a new card sets it for future charges; it does not retry the failed charge by itself. Keep an eye on the Your last payment failed notice at the top of the app, and see What happens when a payment fails or your plan ends for how long the workspace stays open.
